ANTastic!

Title brought to you by our very own, Daniel. OK, so we are starting to pick up a lot which of course leads into delivering a lot more. This not only fills four to five full routes a day on our red cargo trikes, but sends us out on even more tasks by ANT. Thanks to Mike Flanagan of A.N.T. and our shop lead engineer, mechanic, fabricator, head honcho Erik Petterson, we now have two more ANT’s in our fleet fully decked out to get any task done.

Our newly assembled carrier.

Blue Hill Repeats on a Trike

Thanks to our “rookie” driver Brett for breathing some life into this blog.
He is an amazing addition to the already super-hero Metro Pedal team!

Here is a blurry picture I took of Brett in the shop getting ready to go out on a run. So sweet and good-natured looking 🙂 We will get better pictures up here soon. In fact it is time for a company-wide photo shoot soon before we run out of this awesome spring weather. Pedal Power Photography, holla at us!

Spring is an exciting time for us. It is the time when the job really pays off. Pity slowly turns to envy. After months and months of grueling New England winter; sleet, slush and snow; sub-freezing temperatures and loads of sympathy from everyone who sees us “suffering” on the road. After all that, we get the pay-off. Working outside in those scarce spring days, when the sun is shining, the breezes are slight, and […]

Burritos on Board!

Today we helped Boloco shuttle supplies from one of their local stores to the Head of the Charles Regatta Festival in Cambridge. The river waterfront was closed to automobile traffic so the job would have been nearly impossible without us! Trikes to the rescue! That’s John Pepper, CEO of Boloco giving our vehicle a spin.[…]

Harvard Yard Recycling – Trailer

Harvard Yard RecyclingLast week was a fun and busy week here at MetroPed. We did lots and lots of deliveries, got a couple of new clients, and Look – we built a trailer!

We used the new trailer on Saturday for the first time doing a job for Harvard University. The trailer handles exceptionally well and nearly doubles our hauling capacity! Best suited for short trips on relatively flat terrain, it works perfectly for hauling stuff around a campus. We were hired by Harvard to help collect and consolidate reuseable donations during freshman move-out weekend. We hauled 40-50 yards of stuff in about 8 hours on Saturday. Couches, refrigerators, shelving units, futon frames, bags and bags of clothing, books, etc. It’s amazing how much stuff […]

Haul-istic!

Another article in the paper today. Thanks to Tania Mejer for a great story in the Boston Herald’s Earth Day edition. Also, thanks to Larry Slotnick for a great testamonial about our service: “Their rates are fair, their drivers are completely customer-focused and they are reliable – great business partners to have,” said Taza Chocolate[…]

GALVANIZE!!!

That’s right. Made of steel, hot dipped in zinc, that’s us! According to a recent news article about us in the Somerville News Here’s the headline:. “These bike couriers save fossil fuels and help galvanize the local business economy” (read the rest of the story) I think this is a great article (if I do[…]
