Eat Your Fruits and Veggies
Summer is on and so is the produce. Help bring it to your plate via pedal power. We are “riding” full and the veggies and fruit from your Massachusetts farms is looking fantastic. If you’re looking for even more variety, look into the many farmers markets in your communities this summer. Local producers are providing all you need to have beautiful, full meals on your table without the plastic and styrofoam wrapping. It just can’t taste any better. The strawberries this week from Red Fire Farm are divine.
So, I just got back from a little vacation time and the one thing I noticed instantly was the car horn. I traveled through multiple states and even out of the country and did not hear one car horn the entire time. I got back here and that was the first thing to greet me. I was also rudely awakened at 2:00 am the other day when a car horn blasted down my street. Why can’t we just relax a little bit and get along? Stop stressing over the 4 dollar gas prices and jump on the T or get out that ol’ bike of yours. For the same price of an oil change and tire rotation, you can be riding your finely tuned cruiser down the beautiful boulevards of Boston. I understand it takes a little longer and you don’t have the GPS, car stereo, nice flashy rims and stuff, but just give it a try.
I am liking all of the filled bike lanes these days. Other than that, just keep supporting your local businesses, eat locally produced foods and give at least one high five to someone you just met. That’ll change that frown upside down.
See you in the bike lane. (Not you commercial trucks and 15 min parkers)
