ONCE-a-Week

ONCE a Week is a meal program designed by Cuisine En Locale’s JJ Gonson, a personal chef, mom of two, and a food activist. JJ’s mission with ONCE a Week is to create a week’s worth of meals from locally-sourced food.

ONCE a Week offers a wide variety of meals each week, according to the seasons.
Thank you for supporting your local farmers by eating food made entirely from locally sourced ingredients!

Sample Menu:

• Lamb and Wheatberry Soup with fresh greens, mushrooms and winter squash
• Beef and Green Tomato Stew: Thick and hearty, just in case it gets cold outside! With corn, celery, onions, carrots and fresh herbs
• Apple and Beet Waldorf Salad with celery root and sorrel
• Turnip and Carrot Puree with baby fennel confit
• Salsa of Heirloom Yellow Beans, Corn and Tomato with peaches and cilantro
• Stuffed Razor Clams with chorizo, onion and garlic. Please handle these gently and heat by baking flat, at 350 for 20 minutes
• Manhattan Clam Chowder with onions, celery, peppers, fatback and tomatoes
• Green Beans with Roasted Butternut Squash, and toasted garlic, tomatoes and peppers
• Amermenian-style Potato Salad: Colorfully peppered plus parsley and sumac
